Here’s a little peak into our world at Simbonga. This video was made for us by a couple who thoroughly enjoyed their stay with us in the Teepee. They really took full advantage of all we have to offer even bringing their mountain bikes and going for cross country runs amongst the wildlife. They were also very impressed with our sanctuary and loved the lions. A HUGE thank you to Karen and Wayne. We absolutely cannot wait to see you again.
A unique wildlife sanctuary in the heart of the Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Simbonga Game Farm & Sanctuary
We are relatively new sanctuary which we started building in January 2021 and took in our first rescues of 4 lions from Ukraine on 28th April 2021. Since then we have taken in 7 lions and a tiger also from Ukraine with 2, Simba and Mir being rescued from war-torn Ukraine. We also relocated Mrs White and Lily White both elderly white lionesses to Simbonga bringing the total to 13 lions and 1 tiger.
Not only is it a massive responsibility to take in and commit to caring for these animals but it is also extremely expensive and we rely on donations, sponsorships and the little we make from our accommodation to help support these animals and run the sanctuary.
